Stop Over Racing & Under Training

Everyone is doing it, it is fun, good cause, need to improve, need to practice for the big race, etc, etc. Yes, sometimes it is good to race and you can justify it or actually control yourself so it is purposeful. BUT way too often racers get invited by different friends and end up racing so much that they never reach potential as they are always tapering & recovering because they want to feel ok for the race and then are a mess after the race. If you don’t practice faster than what you can race you will get slower over the season. And heck for every $75 to $200 you pay in race fees you could pay for Personal Training and/or some training groups at The Fitness Pursuit. Set up your training to make progress with stress weeks and recovery weeks and build in races that have a purpose or goal. Then be honest with yourself and others about what races you are going after, the main races, not every race needs to be a PR nor should it be.

Swim Clinic

Have your swim technique assessed, given suggestions to take with you, learn drills and assessment of speed and endurance with multiple coaches. Registration is done  with Mundelien Park District here.

The Fitness Pursuit staff administers a group swim program similar to Master Swim Programs. This programs is structured to be prepared for summer triathlon swimming. The program is held at Mundelein Park District Pool.  Sessions usually last 8 weeks. Information and registration can be done from the Mundelein Park District website. You can sign up at any point of the program and be prorated as long as there are spots. Park Dist rule.

Junior Aquatic Pursuit

Tuesdays or Thursdays 815pm-9pm Starting January 8th Mundelein Park District

The Fitness Pursuit staff  coaches youth.  This programs is structured to be prepared for summer kids triathlons. The program is held at Mundelein Park District Pool.  Sessions usually last 8 weeks. Information and registration can be done from the Mundelein Park District website. Must be able to swim 25 yards with face in doing freestyle. For ages 11-14.

 

 

Supplementing for Performance

Sunday Dec 16th 7pm.
Coach Matt will present on supplementing to increase your performance. He will talk about daily, pre, during and post supplementing to take your body to another level. He will share what he uses. If you didn’t know, with supplementing changes he has lowered event times by about 7%! There will be a special package you can purchase on this night only too.
 

Supplementing for Weight Loss

Sunday Dec 30th 7pm.
Coach Matt will present on supplementing to help your weight loss and he will share what he used to drop to his lowest weight ever since 7th Grade. The Clinic will be free if you purchase some products on this night. There will be a special package you can purchase on this night only too.
 
 
 
 

Weight Control Challenge

So many are trying to lose weight now but many more gain. Here is the challenge:

-Weigh in at TFP with staff the week of Nov 12th

-Buy 1 of the dotFIT meal replacement powders(Lean, Pre/Post or Whey), 1 Adult Multi-Vit and 1 of each dotFit bar the week of Nov 12

-Weigh in at TFP with staff the week of Jan 14th

-be 2 or more pounds lighter get what you bought FREE

 

Bike Improvement Challenge- Dec 26th-Feb 28th

So many say they want to be faster on the bike. Here is the challenge:

-Do a Compu Trainer Time Trial in Dec with calibration measuring with in .2

-Buy 1 dotFIT BCAA, 1 Apex or dotFIT Amino Powder & 1 stimulant(dotFIT Workout Extreme or dotFIT NO or APEX NO) by Dec 28th

-after you buy your supplement package you can register for free for additional rides on the Compu Trainer designed by Coach Matt, rotating between Wattage Power Building, Hill Repeats and Race with Drafting

 TFP Take Over Plan

TFP Take Over was designed to allow TFP to come together an show their pride and ability to the local races along with some good ole fashion competition between its athletes! TFPers will often do other races in large numbers but these will be the 3 we ask you to highly consider. Make note in your calendar now.After assessing past years take overs and local event schedules that TFPers tend to follow for various goals. Coach Matt with collaboration with coaches and athletes has chosen the events.

Dietitian Services

Welcome Dietitian Glori Weinert! Fees same at Personal Training $65/hr. She will work with many of TFP’s programs. She will lead the Weight Loss for Life program starting Jan 9th Wednesday nights.

 Drop 20-40

Programs are on Mondays or Tuesdays 6-730pm. Designed those ready to lose 2-4lbs a week for a total of 20-40lbs and are ready to have a challenging weekly workout.

Weight Loss for Life

Program is on Wednesdays 6-730pm. Designed for those that are ready to lose 1.25lb a week , are not regular exercisers and are in need of education to help their daily behaviors improve for a lifetime.

100lb Weight Loss Group

Program will be on Sunday 6-730pm from January-May and then switch to Monday 6-730pm. Designed for those that are ready to lose 100lb in 2013. An interview and decision if they are doing a program needs to be done by December 18th.
