Open Water Swim Clinic - July 5, 2008

Swimming is typically the shortest leg of any triathlon; however, mistakes made during this portion can ultimately affect the rest of your race. Fear open water swimming no more! Learn to effortlessly swim, feel confident in the water, and set your triathlon up for an even more powerful bike and run following your stellar swim. This one-day clinic is a must for every triathlete.

Don't let this intimidate you!

Learn how to:

  • Get over the fear of open water swimming.
  • Properly prepare for the swim portion of the triathlon.
  • Effectively breathe while swimming.
  • Better position your body and improve rotation development.
  • Navigate in open water by utilizing sighting techniques.
  • Swim smoother and easier with longer strokes.
  • Effectively draft during the swim.
Each participant will experience:
  • Specific analysis of swim stroke.
  • Triathlon-specific swim workouts at various speeds and distances.
  • Beach starts and group swimming to simulate triathlon wave starts.

When and Where: 1-1/2 hour session on Saturday July 5th, at 8:00AM sharp in Lake Andrea at Froggy's Landing Beach in Pleasant Prairie, WI (at 9900 Terwall Terrace, make a left into the park and drive until you see the sign for Froggy's Landing).

Coaches: TFP President, Matt Petersen and Pro-Triathlete Terry Harth

Qualifications: Must be able to swim 1 lap of a pool without stopping.

Cost: $45.00 payable before the swim clinic begins (you may bring payment to the clinic, or pay in advance through PayPal).

*By paying for the clinic, you agree to assume all risk associated with swimming in an open body of water.
