Massage for Athletes
Massage therapy is an essential part of any athlete's regular training regiment. Not only does it promote relaxation and mind/body wellness, it also helps the body heal after grueling workouts. TFP welcomes the services of massage therapists Allen Walker & Ellen Winick - please feel free to email them if you have any questions before committing to a session.
Allen's Availability
Tuesdays: 6:00am-1:00pm & 7:30pm-9:30pm
Wednesdays: 7pm-10pm
Sundays by appointment.

Ellen's Availability
Mondays: 10am-12pm; one Monday per month at 6:15pm
Wednesdays: 9:30am-3:30pm

Allen has been serving athletes in the Northern Suburbs and Chicago for the past 20 years, often volunteering his time for CHICAGO MARATHON participants, University of Illinois swimmers and Northwestern students. All of his sessions are based on Sports Massage Techniques which would include body joint mobilizations, active & passive stretching, and tense & relax methods to help facilitate an increase in range of motion. Depending on the athlete's needs, other modalities employed can range from Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Energy Balancing, Shiatsu, Trigger Point, and Jin Shin Do. Allen resides in nearby Gurnee and is a proud parent of 2 girls, Olivia and Elizabeth! His hobbies are beach volleyball, running, tennis and music. |

Ellen Winick has been practicing as a certified massage therapist for over 13 years. With a Masters in Education from Northwestern University and a degree from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy, she is trained in a variety of massage modalities including: sports massage, deep tissue, myofacial release, Swedish, lymphatic drainage and prenatal & postpartum massage. She has worked with a range of clients with diverse needs in locations including a fitness center, chiropractic office, midwifery practice, and a private massage practice. Ellen’s sessions can help with pain relief, injury recovery, peak physical conditioning, physical or emotional relaxation and all the body changes that one experiences during pregnancy and postpartum. Always, her goal is to listen to your needs and design a therapeutic session that will help you more fully meet your goals. Clients report that her sessions create a shift for them and help them learn more about themselves and their bodies. Ellen has been an active runner, swimmer and biker for over 25 years.
