How TFP Helped Me Reach My Goals:During PC Tri Training, I learned how to follow a systematic fitness plan. I had the benefit of weekly feedback from Coach Matt and the group, but learned how to develop core strength and endurance on my own while following the plan. During Fall Fitness Program at PC, I discovered the type of runner I am- I truly enjoy running outside!

What's Next? I would like to complete an Olympic Tri; run a faster 5K and 10K; run a 10-miler and a half marathon.  In the next few years, I plan to continue with increasing my distance training so that i can complete a marathon (or two) with my daughter and son!

What advice do you have for other TFP Athletes? Have enough confidence in yourself that you can complete any event whether it is a 5K or Triathlon.  It is important to mentally picture yourself running, biking or swimming in an event! Train with a group for support and encouragement.  Set a series of goals.  My first goal was to just complete the Danskin Tri. As my training progressed and I participated in more races, I replaced my old goals with new goals. My initial incentive for fitness training was the encouragement of my good friend Margo who decided to train for Danskin Tri. In addition, I attended the Harbor LIghts Tri to support my daughter. Seeing the range of individuals competing and their enthusiasm as they crossed the finish line encouraged me to take that first step forward to training.
